One quarter. One life changed.

For Ana Estela, a young girl in rural Guatemala, vitamins were life changing.

Ana Estela’s eyes were dull and disinterested. Her hair was stringy and thin. As one of the youngest of 12 children, she competed for limited resources and what little food her father, a farmer, could provide.

Her life changed after receiving vitamins.

Two years later, five-year-old Ana Estela is a different child. Thanks to daily multivitamins and twice-a-year vitamin A and deworming treatments, in addition to her school’s feeding program, she has the energy to run and play with her classmates, and the vitality to take full advantage of her education.

An estimated 190 million children under the age of five suffer from vitamin A deficiency, which can lead to weakened immune systems, childhood blindness, and even death. Vitamin A supplementation can substantially reduce a child’s risk of illness or death.

Filling the gap

Children in developing countries become vitamin A deficient because their families can’t grow vitamin A rich foods or afford to buy them regularly. We focus on reaching underserved children through our network of over 400 NGO partners.

Building healthy bodies

Children living in hard to reach areas with limited resources, poor sanitation, and life-threatening illnesses like measles and diarrhea are at extreme risk. Vitamin A deficiency weakens the immune system, meaning children have a harder time fighting off life-threatening illnesses.

Saving lives with vitamin A

Vitamin A supplementation is a powerful and cost-effective way to strengthen children’s immune systems. Healthier children suffer fewer illnesses and resulting deaths from preventable causes. Just one dose of vitamin A twice a year, at a cost of just 25 cents, can change the life of a child at risk.

The Power of Vitamins

We envision a world where every child, from the day he or she is born, has the chance to lead a healthy and productive life. Making vitamins available to children in need is the most immediate and cost-effective way to create a healthier world.
